This notice applies to mechanics and authorized operations staff using the Rotto Mechanic app, operated by Alpha Rotto Private Limited (“Rotto”, “we”, “us”). It supplements the Rotto Privacy Policy for workforce and job-related data.
Rotto uses it to authenticate authorized staff, assign and manage jobs, provide customer and vehicle details needed for the work, navigate to the service location, verify arrival, document vehicle condition and completed work, obtain approvals, support handover, investigate complaints and protect service quality.
Job, location and evidence data is linked to the assigned job and may be available to authorized Rotto operations staff and the customer for service delivery, support, safety and dispute handling.
Location, camera, microphone and notification access is requested for relevant work functions. You can manage device permissions in system settings; denying a permission may prevent the related job step from being completed, but is not used to collect unrelated background information. Use the app’s support route if a permission is unavailable or a job step cannot be completed.
Rotto shares job information with the customer and the authorized operations staff who need it to deliver or support the assigned service. Service providers supporting hosting, maps, messaging/push delivery and media storage may process information for those services. Access is limited by job and role permissions. Offline evidence may be held on the device until upload succeeds.
Original job-location data is retained for up to 90 days and service photos for up to 180 days for service and support. Rotto plans to use these data types for internal route optimization and model training in the future; this use is not active today. Before using data for this purpose, Rotto plans to create a separate training copy, remove customer account, contact and order links, redact visible plates and faces, strip photo EXIF metadata, and reduce location precision to what the model needs. A training copy may remain after account deletion for up to 3 years from creation, with an annual review and earlier deletion when no longer needed. This period and the safeguards are subject to privacy-counsel review before training begins; the data may not be anonymous in every context. Test-drive video/audio, diagnostic logs and crash reports are retained for up to 90 days; data removed from active systems is scheduled to age out of backups within 90 days, except for future training copies retained under the separate 3-year period or an active service, dispute, security incident or legal hold. Accounting books and vouchers are retained for 8 financial years; GST records for at least 72 months from the relevant annual-return due date, or longer during proceedings. Finance/legal review must confirm statutory mapping for each record class. Do not use the app after your authorization ends.
Mechanic accounts are provisioned by Rotto. To report inaccurate information, request access or correction, withdraw a permission, or ask Rotto to deactivate your access and handle associated personal data, email support@rotto.one. Requests are acknowledged within 2 business days and verified, eligible deletion requests are targeted for completion within 30 calendar days. Identity verification uses an OTP sent to the registered phone number; never email an OTP. Some job, audit or financial records may remain for an applicable legal or operational hold.
You can also use the account and data deletion request page.
For a privacy request or complaint, contact Alpha Rotto Private Limited at support@rotto.one or +91 75175 19292. This notice may be updated when the app’s data practices change.
